Danao City, Cebu
Danao City is a 2nd class city in the province of Cebu, Philippines. It is well known for its gun making industry which started in 1905-1906. During World War II, the gunsmiths in Danao went underground to help the guirilla movement. In the 1960s gun making continued to work underground making paltik, a homemade immitations of popular guns. In the early 1990s the industry was legalized by the government.
