Lapu-Lapu City is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the province of Cebu, Philippines. Formerly known as Mactan, it was changed to Lapu-Lapu in 1961 when it was made into a city in honor of Lapu-Lapu, the filipino who defeated Magellan in 1521.
