Asturias, Cebu
Asturias is a 3rd class municipality of the province of Cebu, Philippines. Originally known as "Naghalin" from the Cebuano word "lalin" for settlers coming in from far places. The original occupants of Asturias came from other municipalities and neighboring islands such as Bohol. They occupied a portion of neighboring municipalities Tuburan and Balamban which eventually was recognized by the governemnt and became the municipality of Asturias in the late 1700s due to its increase of population.
