Daanbantayan is a 2nd Class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. It includes several barangays including the island of Malapascua. Daanbantayan is derived from the words "Daan" meaning old and "Bantayan" which means a look-out station since this used to be a look-out station for Moro raiders before the Spaniards obtained control of the Town.
